Speaking of entitled. I would buy a lot more games for #PS4 and #Switch if they didn't think $60 should be the standard price. I don't play them often enough to pay that much, but I would pay $20-$30 for a lot of the games I see.
A lot of people are talking about the upcoming #PS5. I'm not planning to buy it, at least not any time soon.
I've bought Sony #PS4 consoles for multiple people (including but not limited to my sons), partly so we'd be able to play together. It hasn't happened very often, and I'm not looking to spend hundreds of dollars per console again.
I also bought a number of Nintendo #Switch consoles.
Personally, I'll continue to mostly play legacy games (such as Atari's arcade classics and Megaman) on my existing hardware until a grandchild shows me a few games we can play together (which implies that the parents will have already bought the console).
Do I try to make today (Saturday!) a productive day, or do I make it a play some games day? It has been a couple of weeks since I last played anything on either the #PS4 or the #Switch ... and longer than that for the #PS3 or any of the handhelds ( #PSP, #PSVita, #3DS ).
@musicman Yeah, I'm definitely not missing anything by not having a subscription to any streaming service. My TV only exists because of the #PS4 and the #Switch.
#sonOne told me today that since I'm home and off work, I have more time for playing videogames. He's right, and about once every couple of weeks, I log on to the #PS4 and the #Switch and play 10-15 minutes on each console, then put them back on sleep mode.
I was looking back at the videogame console purchase history. I'm not even sure I'm including every item when I say I bought 5 Nintendo #Switch consoles, 8 Sony #PS4 consoles something like 6 or 8 #PSVita & #PSP handhelds and 6 #2DS & #3DS handhelds, 2 #Wii-U consoles and 2 #PS3 consoles and 2 #XBox consoles (whichever generation was contemporary with the PS3).
(Not all for me. Sons, grandkids, and certain others got most of those.)
I sat in this corner to play some games on the #PS4 and the #Switch, but then I decided to run updates! #Fedora 29 is upgrading to 31 and openSUSE Leap 15 is upgrading to Leap 15.1. The NixOS machine is going to run something else.
One of my goals for today is to turn on the #PS4 and / or #Switch and play for a while today. I should see if #sonTwo is available. I know both of our "FIFA" and "MLB: The Show" versions are years old, but maybe we can still play.
I think #sonOne is moving one or both of his 20-something sons to their grandmother's apartment in SE Kansas today. I should call the granddaughters also.
#Daddy_A is going to be busy with family tasks today. I may still ask.
When he was born, they lived right around the corner from me, so for the first couple of years, I saw him multiple times per week ... whenever I was in town. In fact, I watched more "Thomas the Tank Engine" with him than any person my age should ever have seen. (Only one of the other grandkids has ever lived near me, and she was not in walking range.)
When he was four, they came to town around my birthday, and I was home. So he came over and sat on my lap and told me about all the games he played on their #Wii-U ... and about this new game he wanted that was only available for #Switch and #3DS. He didn't ask me to buy him anything, he just talked to me about what was important to him. Of course, he had a #2DS within a few weeks. A month or so later, I sent a Switch. (The 2DS is the same as a 3DS without the 3D simulation that is believed to damage growing children's real world depth perception.)
Looks like the quarantines for the #2019-nCoV outbreak are starting to affect supplies of parts and components used in producing products such as Nintendo #Switch gaming consoles and #Tesla vehicles. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/51353147
I guess that's the bad side of JIT and similar inventory management practices which reduce the inventory of incoming parts.
To conserve funds, I’ve reduced the amount of #yoghurt by half. I’m also reducing the coffee level and going completely decaf for health and personal well-being reasons.
Anyway, today’s goals: (1) call or videochat with my 8 year old granddaughter #GD2 and videochat with my almost 1 year old grandson #GS3. I may also attempt calls or chats with #GD1 (age 12) and #Little_Boy_A (age 6) / #Little_Boy_A2 (age 3) / #Little_Girl_A3. (2) Fire up the #PS4 and the #Switch and play some games.
