Local 45 year old passes due to #COVID-19. I know that each of my kids saw him (and may recall him), but sonTwo was active in the same church years back, so he’s most likely to remember the man.
#California vaccine codes meant for community groups in hard-hit under-served communities escaped into general circulation, allowing resourced people to receive #COVID-19 vaccinations in slots reserved for those under-served communities.
#sonTwo and #Daddy_A have both been talking to their family doctors and were told to delay receiving the #COVID-19 vaccine until additional data is available from those vaccinated.
I'm not pleased that doctors are telling my boys not to get the vaccines (yet). I do realize that we have no history of mRNA vaccines, and that we only have a year of even knowing about this virus, so no long-term studies showing safety.
But both of them are heavy. One had asthma and a lung infection when he was younger.
San Quentin State Prison fined for deadly #COVID-19 conditions that lead to 29 deaths
The bad thing about fines for state agencies is that they'll just take it out of taxpayers' wallets. Perhaps #Cal-OSHA lacks the ability to pursue criminal penalties, but #Cal-DOJ doesn't.
> The state has been criticized for early directives that mandated ill-equipped and understaffed nursing homes accept COVID-19 patients, knowing the elderly population was most at risk for the virus.
Gov Cuomo needs to accept the role his administration played in dramatically increasing the #COVID-19 death toll. Yes, Trump's incompetence also helped.
2nd son’s doctor recommended that they wait to get a #COVID-19 vaccination, saying that the rushed testing process means he’s unable to confidently recommend it.
Because my son has certain health issues, I hope the follow-up studies start quickly ... the faster there are results, the faster his doctor can say a certain “Yes, it is safe” or “No, it is unsafe”.
Experimental prostate cancer drug being studied for antiviral effects against #coronavirus ( including the #SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes #COVID-19 ), influenza A, other viruses.
Looked at both #SoCal #Inland_Empire counties. It looks like #Riverside County has a little bit more detail to their #COVID-19 vaccination plan than #San_Bernardino County does, but they both seem a little too generic to do much good.
A big part appears to be based on the idea that most people will commute long distances to each county’s central hospital for their shots. Geographically, SBCo is the largest county in the lower 48 states, larger than some entire states, so that is entirely unreasonable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Bernardino_County,_California
Both counties have tribal reservations within their territory, but Riverside notes that tribal health groups will receive their vaccines directly from the federal government.
I don’t see “take a truck and set it up in the parking lot of the local park as a mobile vaccination center” or “set up temporary centers in CVS and Walgreens drug stores”.
Good morning and #TZAG. I have to physically visit my bank today. My usual branch has been closed due to #COVID-19, so I have to visit a neighboring town.
No individuals — regardless of whether they’re uninsured, have private health insurance, or have Medicare or Medicaid — will pay out of pocket for the vaccine itself, federal health officials have previously stated.
“Vaccine doses purchased with U.S. taxpayer dollars will be given to the American people at no cost,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source states.
Around Half of Unvacinated Americans Indicate They Will "Definitely" Get #COVID-19 Vaccine. 95% of Those Already Vaccinated Got or Intend to Get All Required Doses
"About 8% of American adults reported they had received a COVID-19 vaccination and around half of adults who haven’t (51%) indicated they would definitely get a vaccine, while an additional 26% said they probably would, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released today."
